Program Director and Founder
Manny Hendrix Jr
Manny is the Founder, Director, and Chief Inspiration Officer with overall responsibility for implementing and delivering the program. Manny’s role is divided into four key components:
• Development and dissemination of the basketball curriculum across all age groups
• Recruiting new participants to the program
• Recruiting Sponsors, Donors, Grant and Government Funding
• Pastoral Care and mentorship
As a High School Athlete, Manny earned two letters in Basketball and one in football at Layton Christian Academy, where he was also named First Team All-State for two seasons, was a two-time region MVP, was a part of the first team to finish third at the state tournament (44-4 overall record) and is in the top-five leading scorers in school history. Following High School, Manny played at Chandler-Gilbert Community College where he was a member of the 2008-09 conference championship team, was awarded the conference MVP, and named conference player of the year for 2008-09 and was named a JUCO All-American. He then transferred to the University of Texas – RGV where he played four outstanding years in the NCAA Division.
After graduating college with a major in Communications Manny headed to Australia and very quickly became the face of Big V Basketball, and, having played across three different clubs, has racked up a multitude of accolades and awards, including:
• 2x League MVP
• 2x Scoring Title
• 4x All-Star 5
• Golden Hands Award
• Voted 2nd best import league guard in the past 15 years
• 2018 Finals MVP and Captain of the Championship Team
Since joining Collingwood, Manny has taken charge of the Men’s Youth League team and reshaped it into a successful program that has consistently competed for Championships including runners up in 2018 and Champions in 2019 and has sent nine team members to U.S. College to play on both D1 and D2 programs.

Jon is our High-Performance Manager and has overall responsibility for developing, implementing, and delivering the high-performance program. Working closely with the Program Director and the Program Manager Jon has developed a program that will prepare young athletes for competitive representative Basketball scaled across age groups and skill levels, including
• Developing an age group-specific strength and conditioning program for players aged 14 to 22
• Developing a post-game recovery program for players aged 13 to 22
• Managing and overseeing the implementation of the programs at the Club
• Managing and leading the High-Performance support team responsible for the supervision of the program
Jon holds qualifications as a Certified Personal Trainer (NASM CPT) and is a Performance Enhancement Specialist (NASM PES) and brings substantial experience into the role, having trained at numerous Elite organisations consisting of high school standouts, McDonald’s All Americans, D1 Collegiate Athletes, and NBA Draft Picks.
His strong skills in structuring programs and creativity to ad-lib when need be are key to his experience, along with a knack for getting athletes to buy into the wider program. Before joining our program, Jon was the Director of Basketball Operations at Can’t Stop Training based in Charleston, South Carolina, where he oversaw and managed workouts for 80-100 athletes throughout the year on-court and off-court.
On the field and court, Jon had an outstanding High School career in both Basketball and Track n Field, where he ranked #2 in the state in 110m High hurdles and #3 in the state in 400m Low hurdles. Following High school, Jon attended Roane State Community College, where he played Basketball and majored in Health Science before coming to Australia to play in the Big V league, along with attending the NBL 2016 Combine and winning the 2017 Australian Redbull Reign 3×3 Championship.
